The Emma Yule Society.....
A tradition of Creating Opportunities and Building Futures
We believe inside each child is an opportunity for greatness. A unique ability to look at the world in a different way, to create or invent something that will make our community a better place to live. We see examples everyday about how much potential our children possess and how eager they are to learn. It is this passion for future accomplishment that created the Emma Yule Society.
Emma Yule was a bright and courageous young woman who served as Everett's first and only teacher in December 1891. She later became the District's first principal and served as superintendent from 1897-1900. Through her leadership and pioneer spirit, early Everett youth had the advantage of a good education.
To continue that tradition of excellence, the Everett Public Schools Foundation created the Emma Yule Society. It provides many opportunities for sponsors, businesses, community leaders and individuals to invest in our area's most important resources...our children and the educators who inspire them.
Our giving society has two benchmark levels of giving each year to provide this avenue of support:
-
The Emma Yule Society: These are investors in significant programs offered by the Foundation. Whether it is tuition assistance for our early learners or classroom grants, these donors give betweem $500 and $999 and offer lasting opportunity to our staff and students.
-
Emma's Circle: In addition to ongoing investment in significant programs offered by the Foundation, givers of $1,000 or more will have the opportunity for a $500 Classroom Grant offered to our teachers and students named in honor of their company, themselves or their family. This named opportunity will take place in the fall for project funding in that school year. Donors will receive a certificate of thanks with information as to the recipient of the grant and the project that was awarded
All donors who qualify for our giving societies will receive an invitation to our Superintendent Scholar Award function each spring that honors top students and their most inspirational teachers. This is a moving event and honors excellence in the Everett Public Schools.
