Welcome to Evergreen Middle School, a place where students shine.

From the families and students of Evergreen, to our amazing school staff, community volunteers and supportive PTA members, great people is what makes Evergreen a special place. Our strong community ties are at the core of what makes Evergreen a great school and a strong family. There is not a day of the week that Evergreen is not buzzing with activity. Whether it be the regular school day, the churches that use our building on weekends, community athletic events, or music festivals, our building is more than a place of learning, it is a hub of our vibrant community.

At Evergreen we focus on the whole student day. Whether students compete for us on the athletic field, entertain us on the stage, perform in our band or choir, serve in our ASB, or participate in the many other activities in our school, Evergreen students are encouraged to extend their learning so that it does not end once class time is over.

As you enter Evergreen this year, hanging in the main hall is the affirmation Do what is right, not what is easy . This affirmation is for both staff and students to affirm their commitment to themselves and to one another to achieve high standards for learning. It reinforces our value to do what is right even when the task is difficult, to keep working towards our goals when it would be easy to give up and to push ourselves to reach our potential. Our staff is committed to the hard work necessary to help each student at Evergreen find success. Our school mission identifies our commitment to honor, excellence and achievement by ensuring students meet Washington State Standards in a safe learning environment. This has been and will continue to be our mission as we serve the Evergreen community and its students this school year.

For students, it is important to know that real learning does not just happen overnight. It is a process that happens over time that requires a commitment to hard work and to exhibit the attitude that giving up is not an option.

At Evergreen, students that are committed to learning are:

  • On-time for school, ready to learn each and every day.
  • Organized and use their agenda planner daily.
  • Accountable for their actions. They consistently do what is right the first time and avoid taking the easy way out.
  • Exhibit a positive work ethic by working with their teachers during class, lunchtime or after school to get the help they need to be successful.
  • Respect all people. Whether in their hallway conduct, their phone calls, or in electronic communications, these students made every effort to be positive about others.
  • Involved in extra curricular activities at school or in the community to build positive peer relationships.

Communication is the key to success in a school; it is the foundation of a solid family environment. Feel free to email us, call us or visit us here at Evergreen so that we can show you how brightly Evergreen students shine.
