Guidelines for E-flier distribution
Everett Public Schools works with community nonprofit organizations and government entities to provide information to families about not-for-profit services for students by publishing approved community fliers on the district Web site.
E-fliers are considered for approval when:
- Programs and events are held within Snohomish County.
- Events are youth-related or related to youth education.
- Scholarships are prominently displayed and offered for students who cannot afford the services, and scholarship information is clearly explained on the E-flier.
- The sponsoring organization's name and contact information is clearly displayed on the E-flier.
- School names are included only as part of the location information for those events which are held in district schools. (E-flier information and layout should not imply that because an event is held at a school that the event is endorsed by the school or district.)
- E-flier includes the following disclaimer statement:
Disclaimer: The Everett School District has neither reviewed nor approved the program, personnel, activities or organizations announced in this flier. The participants agree to protect, indemnify, and hold harmless the district, its elected and appointed officials, employees, agents, staff and volunteers, from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, expenses, or rights of action, directly or indirectly attributed to the activities. Permission to distribute this flier should not be considered a recommendation of the program by the school district. This is not a school district sponsored activity.
Organization approval is considered when:
- The district has on file a signed E-flier application. (Resubmit if contact information changes.)
- The district has on file proof of the sponsoring organization's federal 501(c) status or state nonproft status.
Mail to Bev Ojala, Communications Department, Everett Public Schools, 4370 Colby Ave., Everett, WA 98203, fax 425-385-4012 or e-mail Bev Ojala.
Once your application and 501(c)(3) are on file:
- E-mail a PDF version of each proposed E-flier to Bev Ojala.
- Include the names of the schools that you intend to drop off copies (see the list below).
- Title the document as you want it to appear on the Web. Please do not use the school location name in the title. You may suggest the category for listing the flier.
Denial notifications will be sent by e-mail. Approved fliers will be posted within approximately 10 days.
Important! Not all families have Internet access. Therefore, each school served by your organization must receive, from you, paper copies as listed below. These numbers are subject to change, check before printing copies for current distribution requirements.
