Welcome to our school
Success in school reform is our journey at Hawthorne school. In 2000, we adopted the ATLAS design which has structured our work around five basic principles: (1) authentic teaching and learning that is driven by questions; (2) ongoing cycles of planning, action, and reflection which characterize effective teaching, learning, and organizational change; (3) developing strong relationships with students, staff, and our parents; (4) shared leadership, commitment, and communication to build a collaborative culture for learning; and (5) seeing ourselves as part of the K-12 learning community.
We value parent and community involvement and encourage you to visit our school and take part in the many activities and opportunities that are available. Parent and community engagement are important for our success.

Directions to Hawthorne Elementary School
Northbound: From I-5, take exit 195. Turn left on to East Grand (which becomes East Marine View Drive). Take a left at 12th St. and a right to Poplar St. (Poplar St. will become 11th St.)
Southbound: From I-5, take exit 194 (Everett/Broadway). Turn right on to Everett Ave. Then turn right onto Broadway. Travel north to 12th St. and then turn right. Turn left on to Poplar St.

The mission of Hawthorne Elementary is to bring together community, parents, staff, and students in an atmosphere of cooperation and mutual respect. Together we promote continuous academic and social growth by creating learning environments that foster each student's success.
