Partnerships, business and community

Everett Public Schools has set the goal that partnerships will result in students learning to high standards. Some of the many ways you can partner with Everett Public Schools are:

Before- and after-school homework clubs

Many children require additional assistance with their schoolwork, and most schools have set aside time before- and after-school to help children complete assignments.

Volunteer with studentBilingual volunteers

Many students who walk through our doors are English language learners and need help learning English. Bilingual volunteers who speak Spanish, Ukrainian, Russian, Arabic and Vietnamese are the highest need.

Career and Technical Education advisory committees

Career and Technical Education advisory committees provide advice and counsel on the Career and Technical Education program to ensure that industry standards are taught in the classroom and that students go on to college or employment with proficient skills.

Classroom speaker

Share your professional talents with kids by speaking to a class for 20 — 30 minutes. Your name can be added to a database of people who are available to speak.

Junior Achievement

Junior Achievement has developed K-12 programs that complement existing school curriculum to educate students in business and economics. Volunteers are needed to work with classrooms once a week for five to ten weeks.

Student with mentorMentors Matter in partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters

Mentors meet at school for one hour every week throughout the school year with a child who will benefit from a one-to-one relationship with an adult.

P.E.P Club members

In appreciation of support throughout the years, Everett Public Schools extends an invitation to our residents to join the 60 year-old-plus club.

Reading tutor or math tutor

Assist students one-on-one with their reading and math skills. Volunteer for an hour a week or a morning or afternoon a month and support children in their learning.

Student touring GoodrichReal-life learning opportunities

Make learning real for kids. Help provide ways to illustrate what children are learning in school today that will be used in their work when they are older. These opportunities can include having kids work on a special project, design a brochure or publication or demonstrate their skill in real-life work environments.

Student work review panelist

Members of the community are needed throughout the year to review student work. This includes the culminating exhibitions presented by seniors preparing to graduate.

Work-based learning

Provide opportunities for students to extend their learning in a related paid or unpaid work experience.
