2011-2012 School Year

I have been teaching since 1990 and have been in the Everett Public Schools for my entire educational career. Prior to entering the public education field, I was a CPA (Certified Public Accountant).My first five years of teaching was at the elementary level and since then I have taught math (and sometimes computers and science) at the middle school level. This is my fourth year at Gateway Middle School and feel privileged to be teaching at a School of Distinction with a strong and supportive math department that works closely with one another.

Bachelor of Science - Accounting: Central Washington University (1985)
Teaching Certificate - Kindergarten through 8th Grade Elementary Endorsement: City University (1990)
4th Grade through 12th Grade Math Endorsement - classes through Seattle Pacific University (1995)
Master of Education- Instructional Technology: City University (2001)

I have taught 6th grade math through Algebra at the middle school level. This year I am teaching the Discovering Algebra curriculum as well as an 8th grade Math class and an 8th grade Math Support class.

The algebra course provides the opportunity to receive a high school math credit and is an equivalent course to those taught at the high schools. The credit and the grade will transfer to the high school upon your request once you are in high school.
